THE HIGHLAND NAPPY NETWORK
To support people with cloth nappies and raise awareness of their many benefits
The Highland Nappy Network is a voluntary organisation run by a team of volunteers who have all used cloth nappies with their own babies. We are here to support new parents in the Highlands and Moray to use cloth nappies, via free, independent advice.
The organisation started in November 2001 under its former name (The Highland Real Nappy Project).
The Nappy Network now covers the NHS Highland area, Moray, the Western Isles, Orkney, and Shetland. We also have a courier service for areas where we don't have volunteers.
Our main focus is on loaning out hire kits. All the kits (newborn, size one, size two) have 20-25 nappies and all the accessories you would need. They are £20 for the first month (paid up front), and £10 a month thereafter (paid on return, or monthly - your preference).
Newborn hire kit - Around 25 nappies of various styles in newborn sizes, wraps, liners, wipes. Everything you should need to get you started and help you choose a nappy solution that fits your family.
Sized hire kits - Around 20 nappies of various styles in either medium or large sizes. Perfect for the follow-on stages if you want to try nappies but you're not sure where to start, and your baby is a bit older. We recommend a size one kit from 2-8 months, and a size two kit from 8 months to potty training.
We also have a potty training kit - this comes with a selection of super-absorbent nighttime nappies with wraps, and a wide size range of training pants (from the really wee, to the really big!).
WE ALSO DO...
We mainly sell nappies and accessories at the events we attend, though we will occasionally sell off old stock, or unique donations (that we can't use in our hire kits) via our facebook page, or other nappy facebook pages.
